TEAM 7 wins Green GOOD DESIGN Award for third time

TEAM 7 has once again been awarded the renowned Green GOOD DESIGN Award from the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design. Both the bed and TV unit of the lux series have now been recognised with this coveted prize. Every year the museum, along with the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, hands out the award to projects and products from 34 countries that it considers to be outstanding examples of sustainable and innovative design.

This year, the panel of international experts from the design industry selected two of TEAM 7’s designs from the hundreds of applications. Made completely without metal, the lux bed is a masterpiece of Austrian craftsmanship. The wooden joints give the piece exceptional stability and are also a perfect example of how to create a healthy and sustainable living environment. The central element of the simple linear design is the triangle. The lux TV unit, meanwhile, provides a contemporary answer to today’s multimedia requirements. Flexible and compact, the elegant wooden cubes can be used for a variety of purposes.

The panel for the Green GOOD DESIGN Award places great value on sustainability. As with all TEAM 7 furniture, these models are produced exclusively using European species of hardwood grown in sustainably managed forests, and only natural oil is used to treat the wooden surfaces. The wood is free of pesticides and harmful substances, is tested for radioactivity and is glued together without using formaldehyde. This means the wood retains its outstanding natural properties and ensures a pleasant and healthy indoor environment. TEAM 7 was previously awarded the Green GOOD DESIGN Award from the Chicago Athenaeum in both 2011 and 2012, in recognition of its proven combination of craftsmanship, sustainability and timeless design.
