Each of the decorative styles and color palettes has its own rules that you can follow or apply as a framework for creating your style or the combination of colors. A touch of eclecticism (mixing individual styles) can look very interesting and creative in bedroom design and decor.
It is important to mention that the essence of each decorating style are individual objects, shapes, and colors, as well as the way that they complement each other and make a whole – a beautiful and comfortable bedroom space.
Global Style
The concept of the world as a “Global Village” is reflected in many aspects of our lives, including interior design and decorating. The global decor combines objects, materials, and colors that are national treasures from around the world.
For example, Scandinavian furniture, Croatian lace, Indian bedspread and curtains, Japanese screens, Chinese lanterns, African motifs in the form of drums, figurines, vases; Mexican rugs, exotic wicker baskets, and other accessories; etc. Earthy colors prevail, with the addition of vibrant hues of green, blue, yellow.
Pop Art and Postmodernism
Unusual vases, screens, clocks, figurines, lamps – remind us of Pop Art and Postmodernism. If you want to highlight them, merge them into the interior with minimalist furniture and white walls.
On the other hand, if you add them to equally striking furniture and walls – you’ll get an interior that leaves no one indifferent.
Classic Style
The splendor of gold-plated and silver-plated decor, especially decorations in the Baroque style, reminds us of the luxurious interiors of the aristocracy. Richly ornamented picture frames and mirrors are an excellent fit with classic furniture, as well as furniture in the style of Retro-Modernism. Also, these accessories are often combined with contemporary furniture.
Romantic Style
Romantic look – lace pillowcases and bedding, bed with canopy, silk ribbons on the curtains, glass candlesticks, and crystal chandeliers – in other words, romance is in the decorative accessories that inspire the imagination.
Every Decorative Detail Complements the Interior Design and Creates the Style
Regardless of which decorative style you choose, it is advisable to think of every detail. “The details are not the details. They make the design. “ Charles Eames
