Cersaie 2014 conquered with new format and step up in design

When you assemble all subjective impressions and objective feedback from the market in conjunction with this year’s performance of Keramika Modus from Orahovica, Croatia at the fair Cersaie 2014, held from 22 to 26 September in Bologna, it leads to conclusion that yet another presentation among greatest ‘players’ of global ceramic industry was a huge success.

Cersaie 2014 in numbers

Cersaie in edition 2014, has proved that it is the main starting point for the global expansion of the business, the most important place for manufacturers of floor and wall coverings made ​​of ceramic, and this year for the first time also for manufacturers of wall and floor coverings made of wood, marble and concrete, as well as the inevitable meeting point ‘of the profession and the public’; architects, interior designers, tile setters … and many visitors that are in love with beautiful and high quality products for interior decorating. Cersaie is still the leading international platform for discussions on the ceramic industry yesterday, today and tomorrow – in real time and real economic opportunities. Fair was visited by more than 100,000 people, there were 945 exhibitors (45 more than year 2013), and the whole event was followed by 578 accredited journalists.

Monitoring trends, investment in research, development of design

As a manufacturer of ceramic tiles Keramika Modus closely follows current market trends, and is investing in research and development of new designs as part of the marketing activities. In factory located in Orahovica Keramika Modus has their own development department and is cooperating with leading Italian design studios. Digital inkjet printing has enabled a step forward in design and certainly assures better positioning in the market. Changing of trends in the production of ceramic tiles is determined by the international exhibitions, such as Cersaie, the main impetus coming from the manufacturer, designer or markets, and by the manufacturer of the materials and equipment used in production.

Their satisfaction with our new collections of tiles, where we presented the new format 25×60 cm, as well as a step in the design approach and the results of the application of modern technology solutions is our largest and most important pledge for the future. In addition, optimism and a lot of work certainly are a constant in our safe way to achieving all the goals we have set in the domestic and foreign markets. I can announce that till the end of this year we will be present in a total of thirty markets”,said Željko Radek, CEO at Keramika Modus.

The real beauty of the tile is in the… touch!

Today’s technology enables the production of a wide variety of tile surface structure of the ‘raw and rough’ to ultra brilliant, silky to the touch surface. Seen at Cersaie 2014, refined relief and vibrant colors and the most convincing so far mimic wood, stone, marble or concrete. Compared to last season, the tree is stronger, sharper relief and darker tones. With the coupling of different dimensions, relief, colors, and styles originality is achieved.
The popularity of ‘cement’ tiles continues its cycle with a whole range of industrial design: cement, concrete, mortar or asphalt. Often oversized tiles look raw and immature, where the decor is clean delicate counterbalance to the cold tile appearance. Typography and graffiti, pictures from old wallpaper and emblems, as well as vintage style are still present.

Trend report from Cersaie 2014

Digital technology has enabled the production, and thereby imposed a trend of tiles larger than 3 m and a thickness of 3 mm only. The most common dimensions are still 20×50 or 30×60 cm. At the fair in Bologna with collections Aquarelle, Barcode and Transparent Paper we presented a new dimension – 25×60 cm and we are very pleased with the feedback from the market. Tile in its original form and dimension of 15×15 cm is one of the new old trend, which has been announced for next season”, said Katica Petkov, director of marketing and development at Keramika Modus. Croatian manufacturer plans to soon introduce the said minor dimension that, when it comes to design, provides countless possibilities: the patchwork effect that is achieved by a mix of different patterns on the wall, modern geometric patterns of Moroccan style and black and white prints, to rustic. “Metro bricks this year were seen in a range of colors, and with regard to demand, we produced them in six colors that are very easy to fit into any interior (collection Ultra). Rustic style returned to its refined form, prominent structures, where we presented collection Maiolica New in dimension 20×50 cm”, concluded Petkov.

Keramika Modus presented four new collections of tiles

Novelties that Croatian manufacturer unveiled at this year’s Cersaie, in format and design completely fit into the ‘theme’ of the fair, where again was important to draw attention with dimension, touching the tile and experience its texture for better discern good from great imitation of wood, stone, concrete or marble tile. Modus introduced four new collections of ceramic tiles labeled Made in Croatia.
