Discover how to decorate a holiday table – create a colorful and aromatic harmony so that all the senses can enjoy it.
The holidays are a time of joy and cheerfully decorated interiors, a time of gathering with loved ones. To set the design scene of these festive gatherings, imaginatively place the decorations in the living room and the dining area. Create a harmony of colors, shapes, materials, scents, and tastes – so that all the senses can enjoy it.
The Joyful Color Palette of Dining Table Decor
Let’s start by choosing the colors of chair slipcovers, tablecloths, table toppers, napkins, and tableware. It is necessary to harmonize these cheerful colors, and complement them with the decorative arrangements – placed at the central part of the table (as a centerpiece) or next to each plate.
The red tablecloth is a lovely choice. Its fiery appearance can be “cooled off” by placing glass ornaments and crystal glasses, white plates, and silver or white napkins.
“Icing on the cake” can be a silver candlestick or a combination of green branches, red ornaments, and sweet cookies.
Glittering stars, scattered on the tablecloth, will make this decorative story, even more, magical.
Red plates and glasses in combination with a green tablecloth and napkins create a festive atmosphere. These colors are also a symbol of love.
If you want to “warm up” the atmosphere for a romantic dinner, it is advisable to put two red scented candles on the table. Red roses are always welcome, especially when it comes to romance since these floral beauties speak of love.
Chair slipcovers, tablecloths, table toppers, napkins, and dishes in neutral tones (white, gray, beige, brown), create a basis on which the colored ornaments come to the fore and refresh the interior space.
Napkins and Centerpiece Decoration Ideas
If your selection consists of one-color fabrics and dishes, the festive touch to the design can come in the form of napkins – decorated with the Christmas tree ornament, or folded into a Christmas tree, or a flower. The centerpiece can be a miniature Christmas tree, a large bouquet of flowers, glass vases filled with gifts, candles placed on the mirror or some other reflective surface, etc.
Decorating the holiday table is an opportunity for creative expression in the comfort of your home. Your family will enjoy the beauty of decorations, in addition to your culinary skills.
