In the heart of central London lies One Kensington Gardens. Located on Kensington Road, with views overlooking Kensington Gardens, De Vere Estates has completed the construction of 97 luxury apartments. Having been designed by the renowned architect, Sir David Chipperfield, De Vere Estates has now turned to Karen Howes, founder of the London-based interior design firm, Taylor Howes, to design the interiors of their show flats.
Karen’s contemporary style has made her a prominent figure in the interior design industry and this year, she was awarded CEO of the year at the 2016 Business Excellence Awards. Her bespoke interiors combine luxury with functionality and mirror the high standards to which the apartments have been finished.
By working in close collaboration with artisans and craftsmen, Karen is able to create unique pieces made only from materials of the highest quality. This, coupled with her vast wealth of experience in the industry, has made her the ideal candidate to design these show flats.
Every Show Apartment with Its Unique Identity
Ranging in size from 1,658 sqft to 5,483 sqft, Karen bestowed each of the 6 show flats with its own unique identity. A distinctive color palette was selected for each apartment to compliment the space and add the particular touch of glamour that has become synonymous with the Taylor Howes studio.
For the spa and communal areas of the development, Karen created a calm and serene ambiance for the residents of One Kensington Gardens to enjoy. She opted for a neutral color palette and natural materials such as wood and inlaid stone to collectively enhance the soothing atmosphere of the spa, with subtle inflections of metallic tones and shades of blue in the elegant reception.
Karen’s personality is reflected in her designs for One Kensington Gardens, as she strives to create an atmosphere that not only exudes style and elegance but is also welcoming and relaxed. This typifies her stylish yet approachable nature which has made her a joy for clients to work with.
Karen has shown potential residents how to make these apartments personal to their needs through a range of comfortable and elegant interiors with bursts of color and eye-catching artwork.
