Aurelia, a contemporary house in harmony with the forests that surround it, is located in the hilly village of Katalpada, surrounded by a beautiful natural landscape of picturesque hills, offering amazing views. Alibag (Alibaugh) coastal town and the surrounding area in Maharashtra, India – is a popular weekend travel destination, known as the Hamptons of Mumbai. This area offers sandy beaches and lush green scenery – a lovely outdoor setting and direct contact with nature.
This creative project is designed by SHROFFLEóN, an Architecture, Landscape, and Interior Design Studio based in Mumbai and headed by Kayzad Shroff and Maria Isabel Jimenez Leon. Aurelia – House Under a Pool is selected by an international jury at the Piscine Global Pool Awards (the world’s leading swimming pool and wellness event) as the runner up in the “Most Beautiful and Innovative Pool” category.
The Mumbai based clients of SHROFFLEóN studio told the designers their wish – for their weekend home to create an experience of luxurious outdoor living, and a feeling of being one with nature.
The central design element of Aurelia house is an infinity pool, placed on the top of a hill, that blends with the trees. Around this awarded swimming pool, the architectural studio has created different designer outdoor spaces, furnished with the furniture from Vondom company.
One of the terraces is furnished with the table, armchairs, and sofa from the Stones collection, designed by Stefano Giovannoni for Vondom, creating synergy between the natural environment and the artificial environment. As the name suggests, this designer outdoor furniture reminds of the shape and color of stones.
Another of the rooms is furnished with the sofas and poufs from the Vela collection, as well as Blanca lamps, created by Javier Mariscal. To create a relaxing space near the Jacuzzi, the Faz armchairs and the Vela square puff have been selected, both designed by Ramón Esteve.
The Bubbles outdoor designer lamps by Studio Vondom – are strategically placed at different points in the garden, illuminating the amazing views.
Aurelia – House Under a Pool is, all in all, a dreamy place.
