Cantina Antinori project

Cielo is a prestigious partner of the exclusive and highbrow project for the new Marchesi Antinori wine cellar in the Chianti Classico terroir

Cielo is an important player in the Italian ceramics sector and on the cutting edge of quality design and technology. Among its recent contract projects on the home market, it is proud to have contributed to the new Cantina Antinori, designed by architect Marco Casamonti of Archea Associati. The new exclusive hub of the Marchesi Antinori production is set in an extraordinary and hilly wine-growing area of Chianti, halfway between Florence and Siena, the backdrop of this enlightened and refined architectural project, which has set out to enhance the cultural and social values of a place that has been dedicated to the production of wine for over six hundred years.

With this prestigious project, CIELO has once more proved its ability to respond perfectly to customer needs, thanks to the creation of a new enamel in warm and evocative shades of brown, inspired by the earthy colours of the land in the Chianti Classico area, and to surface textures offering a captivating tactile experience that is smooth and reassuring. In this way, the freestanding Le Giare elements and the washbasins from the Smile collection enter into a dialogue with the architectural project and the territory in which the complex stands, and also with the materials of the Cellar itself, such as terracotta, wood and Corten steel which, in a manner that is both simple and refined, create a fascinating symbiosis with the surrounding landscape.

In particular, the two freestanding washbasins of the Le Giare collection are charmingly placed in a strategic position at the heart of the Cellar, where the wine is actually tasted, within spacious glass walled rooms suspended in the cavity of the great vault covering the barique cellar. The significance of the context in which the Cellar stands makes the material, tactile and chromatic aspect of each furnishing element a primary and inspirational concept of this project.

Such a result has been obtained thanks to a strategy permeated by the value of Italian craftsmanship, the uniqueness of each product that has been meticulously studied and personalized in every detail, research and experimentation and a manufacturing excellence that is far removed from any concept of standardization.

Its participation in a project of such elevated cultural content has made CIELO the prestigious representative of a mind style deeply associated with quality industrial product design for the bathroom, and endorses the brand’s capacity to offer personalized solutions thanks to a highly specialized supply chain in which expert craftsmen control, add the finishing touches and, whenever required to do so, hand decorate each individual piece.

CIELO’s original design solutions for contemporary bathrooms set out to satisfy the demands of an  increasingly discerning and selective market, and stem from a meticulous stylistic research and an innovative approach to the choice of materials and forms.

The Cantina Antinori project, curated by Archea and architect Marco Casamonti, the Company art director, symbolizes a new ratio in the balance and synergy between primitive nature and contemporary production, framed in a natural setting that is one of the most beautiful in Italy.
