The Community of Interior Designers (ZADIN) Takes You to the World of Cozy Interiors
The world is becoming increasingly aware of the important role that the design of our living and working space plays in shaping our mood, productivity, relaxation, and quality of life and work. The same applies to places where we stay only occasionally – hotels, restaurants, cafes, shops, and various public spaces. The interior and exterior design communicates with us, whether we are aware, or not.
For example, the coziest interiors are those in which there is an abundance of daylight, greenery that reminds us of a walk in nature, relaxing sounds, fresh air, colors, and scents that relax or wake us up (depending on the function of the room and our needs); materials that are good for us and our planet… All of the above (and much more) is part of quality interior design, in other words, quality interior design comes from knowledge about a wide range of areas.
It is for this reason that the Community of Interior Designers, a professional association that gathers interior designers, decorators, stylists, architects, landscape architects, garden designers, and other design enthusiasts, organized a series of online education in June and July – to inform its members (but also the wider public) about various innovative solutions for designing residential and business spaces, but also about ways to enhance business.
Everyone interested can discover more about how to apply for a particular education on the ZADIN.eu web platform. Design trends and expert advice await you all year long. Currently, the organizers (Tatjana Kos, Ada Kezić, Danica Maričić) are working on creating a series of online education in September and October.
Online Education on Innovative Solutions for Designing Residential and Commercial Spaces
The series of design education started with a story about ZINTRA Acoustic Solutions: the Secret of Perfect Sound in a Room, in cooperation with the company Iverpan. The lecturer, Mladen Jambrović, explained to those present how to implement sound insulation in the interior, which makes the space more pleasant to stay in, and the design of the space more attractive and environmentally friendly, since the panels are made of recycled plastic bottles and similar materials.
In the next lecture, in collaboration with the Häfele company, the topic was LED Lighting as a Functional and Emotional Element in Interior Design. The lecturer, Dalibor Pavlović, informed the attendees about the basics of lighting planning in the interior and understanding the requirements of the lighting effect and explained the basic concepts and types of lighting (general, functional, and accent lighting). He also explained the added value of lighting in furniture and interiors in general, and how to apply the LOOX range in easily planning LED lighting in furniture.
The Community of Interior Designers’ next online education was held in cooperation with the company Velux. The topic was solutions for pitched and flat roofs that bring more natural light, visually increase the space, and have a timeless look. At the beginning of this article, we stated that natural light is among the key elements in cozy space design. Architect Tomislav Fabek informed the attendees about systems for installing two or more skylights, the characteristics of individual solutions, and design guidelines and examples from practice.
Lecturer Nataša Kelšin from the company FEK’s Bedding held education on Linen as a Natural Luxury. Namely, linen bedding, towels, and furniture upholstery are important for those who want to live (and sleep) healthier. Let’s also mention that linen (flax) is a natural material with a reputation as one of the most environmentally friendly materials, for example, in sustainable interior decoration and fashion.
The final education of the Community in this spring/summer cycle was held by the lecturer Dalibor Pavlović, who spoke about decorative and functional solutions for furnishing the kitchen. The Community members and other attendees received advice on kitchen planning and an insight into the decorative range and functional solutions from the kitchen segment of Häfele fittings.
Education on Ways to Enhance the Designer’s Business
Among online education for business improvement, we mention Introduction to Digital Marketing – Examples from Practice (Andrej Tonković, Arbona). At the beginning of June, those present learned – How does online advertising work? Why is it profitable to invest in digital marketing? How to prepare the web for digital marketing? How to create an ad or video ad for social networks and how to reach your audience?
The lecturer, Monika Kordić from CORDION Consultancy, held the online education Opportunities for (Co)Financing Your Business Investments – EU Funds – on grants for internationalization and market expansion, innovations of newly founded companies, and trades, proving innovative concepts, grants for the introduction of standards, support for inclusion in value chains…
Let’s conclude… An increasing number of interior designers are working in Croatia, since clients have recognized the importance of hiring professionals when designing residential or business premises. For example, if you want a small space to look bigger and be multifunctional – the designer will offer you a solution for the optimal design and arrangement of furniture and lighting, a color scheme that is in accordance with the size of the space and the psychology of colors… Let’s create cozy interiors together.
