Kyoto – Unlimited and Fascinating Possibilities in the Garden

Life is creation

– Material combinations newly-designed in distinctive forming

Idea of design collection Kyoto

Based on Origami – the Japanese paper folding art – the designer Wolf Udo Wagner has developed this chair on behalf of the garden furniture specialist Fischer Möbel. Within the study for a completely new chair he concerned himself with the clear shapes that result from folding paper. A piece of paper was the initial point. The designer formed it in a way that made out of this model a comfortable seat and back shell can be realized. Wagner turned the connection of seat and back with the frame upside down in order to increase the value of the concept. The u-shaped frame is carrying the suspended seat shell as a connector between seat and back by offering the observer a shapely span made of stainless steel.

Material and Quality:

The shell is made of fm-foam, a hard foam that is absolute sunfast and weather resistant. For the best seating comfort the material is elastic and accommodates to the body. The result of combining all this with polished, well dimensioned stainless steel is a new dimension of a modern chair for areas of application.

Collection

Kyoto consists of armchair and sidechair. Both are space-saving stackable. The shell is available in the trendy colors anthracite, white, quartz and green. The dismountable table in four different sizes can be ideally combined with matching fm-ceramtop table tops. The granite and glass tops can be also offered. Further items such as sunbeds and lounge chairs are also scheduled. Those items will be made of fm-foam, coated with a rubber lacquer that makes the material almost indestructible.
