Vorwerk Carpets “Fascination”: between diversity and uniqueness

With “Fascination”, one of the most successful collections from Vorwerk Carpets, is being presented completely new. In the case of this collection comprised of broadloom carpets, bordered rugs and “Floor Sculptures” floor tiles, a multifaceted quality, look, structure and colour have all been brought to the fore. With this extensive collection and its abundance of layers – according to the manufacturer 417 variations and 22 product lines for broadloom carpets alone – “Fascination” primarily addresses major current trends in styles at home.   For “Fascination Designs” Vorwerk banks on a broadly assorted selection of designs ranging from strictly graphic to playful, from subdued to loud, and from small to large-scaled. What has emerged is an internationally aligned collection sparkling with facets, a collection with which the floor at home can be turned into a fascinating space for design.

Contemporary classics and up-to-date interpretations form the basis of the new “Fascination”. High-quality articles with loop and velours piles are accentuated by the luminosity of the lively colours being offered in a wideranging spectrum. Starting right here the collection already displays a special selection of products which can be effortlessly integrated into the widest variety of interior designs. For instance, the expressive Modena, Nutria Melange, Viola and Allegro series.

The series named Nerz (‘mink’), Hermelin (‘ermine’) or Ameo fit in with a minimalistic yet sensual decorating style. Here the priority has been placed on surfaces designed in a reduced, costly and appealing manner. The palette of colours extends from pure, natural shades all the way to neutral, softly tempered hues into which deliberately chosen colour accents have been harmoniously integrated. Due to their sophisticated, reserved sense of lightness, these “Fascination” models are about to create an atmosphere that assures well-being at home. One completely new look within the collection: carpets in a ‘vintage style’. They pose an intriguing balance between tradition and innovation.

For those who would like to see more colour in their home: Exciting accents can be set with the creations Lyrica or Fabula. This applies equally to wallto- wall solutions and to bordered rugs in an individualised format. Sized area rugs with noticeably contrasting edgings can accentuate favourite zones in rooms in an elegant way.

The free-form “Floor Sculptures” floor tiles are available in two new shapes, Curve and Octagon, along with an up-to-date spectrum of colours. Joined according to the mix and match principle, the single, self-adhesive floor tiles can be arranged completely individually to form any conceivable shape – even temporarily. Images arise on the floor that make a room chic while staging it differently time and again. Here too, a new factor are the surfaces that can also be combined with one another. For example, floor tiles fitted with high-quality Saxony plain-hued velours pile generate an effective optical and tactile contrast to the “Floor Sculptures” fitted with alcantara.

One innovative technological feature of the “Fascination Floor Sculptures” is the specially coated backing. It makes sure that the tiles adhere to smooth subfloorings such as laminate, stone or ceramic all by themselves – and can be taken up again very easily, too. New types of flexible shapes can thus be created over and over again without requiring special laying expertise, adhesives or tools. This innovative and particularly environmentally conscionable coating process, a process developed and patented by Vorwerk, makes use of the principle of adhesion. As a result of this modular concept coupled with product longevity and extendability, “Fascination Floor Sculptures” more than accommodate the trend seen in a frequent change of one’s own lifestyle.

The collection presents 23 different borders towards producing individualised bordered rugs that can be combined with broadloom carpets. This way ‘looks all your own’ can be created that match the widest variety of decorating styles: regardless of whether highly contrasting in terms of colour and material for a trace of extravagance, or set discreetly tone-in-tone to obtain aesthetic harmony. Each bordered rug is manufactured in a rectagonal format in the individually desired size (max. 4 x 6 m). This enables the rug to be adapted to fit the given spatial situation.

The “Fascination” models are made to the greatest extent out of polyamide. Above and beyond these, three products in 100% virgin wool are also being offered. Many of the “Fascination” products bear the “Suitable for those suffering from allergies” seal of approval issued by TÜV Nord, a North German technical certification association. Due to their effect in reducing fine dust particles, the products are also recommended by DAAB, the Germany Allergy and Asthma Association. As a rule, the broadloom carpets and sized area rugs are available in the standard 400 cm width, but queries can be made for many of them as to their additional availability in the special 500 cm width. Besides the so-called flush cut, broadloom carpets are also offered in pre-sized room dimensions.
