The award-winning aye chair is now available in a two-colour version, which is seeing new, interesting design options emerge, as ten harmonised combinations nicely complement the different types of wood on offer. The lines of the aye chair are accentuated by these contrasts in colour. Compatible with the design of the flaye table, chair and table together form one visual unit. Fine leather seams span the elegant surface of this upholstered chair, creating an organic look. Precisely defined edges are alternated with extensive curved radii. A vertical ridge runs down the back section like a spine and represents one of the features which deliberately link this organic design with its archetypes in nature. The striking sidecuts along the back support give the aye an airy feel and create a desire to touch the chair and move it. The version with armrests is like a mirror image of this ‘cut-out’ look and produces a dynamic design that is somewhat reminiscent of hoisted sails. Despite the slender nature of the materials, the seat envelops the body with the comfort of an upholstered chair, together with a flexible back rest for relaxed reclining, ergonomically designed arm rests and a comfortable, elastic seat for hours spent sitting cosily at a table.
