John-Paul Welton: a unique journey
Passionate Englishman, John-Paul Welton, has had an incredible career. His roles in diplomatic and government circles took him to the Middle East, Asia and the United States. After several years working in this area, he decided to begin a new chapter and completely devote himself to interior design. Curious by nature, he took inspiration from his extensive travels and launched the first Welton Design furniture collection in 2001.
Decorator and designer John-Paul Welton is passionate about fragrance. He believes that to create an interior, an ambiance not only needs furniture, colour and decorative pieces, but also scented notes. His new passion was awakened whilst working in Grasse to design fragrances as real perfumes.
Welton Design: a range of contemporary furniture
John-Paul Welton has always been passionate about the world of interior design and, inspired by his travels, decided to devote himself completely to this area.
In 2001 he launched Welton Design, his first furniture collection made in Italy. His resolutely contemporary collections feature clean lines and perfectly embody John-Paul Welton’s sophisticated style. The creations are highly appreciated by his private international clientele for whom he designs bespoke pieces.
John-Paul Welton pays close attention to the choice of materials used in his furniture collection: quality wood, quilted leather etc. Welton Design works with famous Italian upholstery fabric companies to upholster the collection’s sofas.
Welton London: a sensory journey
John-Paul Welton believes that a fragrant ambiance is vital to a beautiful interior. He has designed several fragrance collections to give a finishing touch to the room.
He works on all the sensory creations in his collections and designs his fragrances in Grasse, the world capital of perfume. He is devoted to highlighting exceptional expertise and has chosen France to make all the products in the luxury collections of perfumes and fragrances. He thus creates original and sophisticated scents to awaken the senses. He subtly brings together woody, spicy and floral notes which have captivated his international clientele.
The Welton London collections unite exceptional and original fragrances and are now available in 35 countries worldwide. The collections feature scented candles and fragrance diffusers.
In autumn 2012, Welton London became a full-fledged perfume company at the launch of its first eau de toilette collection currently available from Liberty in London, Bon Marché in Paris and La Rinascente in Florence.
Since its foundation, the brand has made its mark in the fragrance world and has collaborated with famous names such as British interior designer Kelly Hoppen and designer Christian Lacroix. Welton London will unveil new fragrance ranges and the new collection made in collaboration with the famous fashion house, Courrèges, at the Maison & Objet exhibition in September 2013.
Two Parisian settings
A spacious Haussmannian apartment in the very heart of Saint-Germain houses John-Paul Welton’s showroom where he welcomes private clients, creates the décor and designs and makes bespoke furniture. John-Paul Welton appreciates beauty and collects artworks, beautiful books about architecture, photography and fashion and crystal pieces by Daum and Saint-Louis from the 50s.
The showroom reflects the Welton brand’s expertise in producing exclusive sensory projects.
The first ultra-chic Welton London shop with its equally stylish interior is due to open in Paris’ extraordinary 7th arrondissement at the end of September 2013. The entire fragrance collection and the beautiful eau de toilette collection will be displayed in this sublime setting designed entirely by John-Paul Welton himself.
